We set up three watches for the night, as we camped in the base of a ruined tower, which was sheltered enough from the road that a fire wasn't visible. Jack took the first watch with Pochwarn, the younger of the two brothers Thymelixsen hired as bodyguards. May took the second watch with Mocutanz, the elder. I got up partway through their watch to work on His Holiness Revealed, then when My watch with Cor started, worked on weather sense and alertness. Happily, it was a calm night.
In the morning, we headed north towards Delyon after May cast Guidance of Nature on the horses, so they could travel more quickly. I rode on the wagon with May for a while (also Thymelixsen, but he was involved in casting), and worked on resisting layered magic. Then there was time to get a sense of the geography here. It was dense forest through the morning's travel. We had to stop every three hours for May to cast her blessing again.
The first sign of getting close to Delyon was a larged shaped tree at the side of the road. After that, there were vineyards, with people working them. We put up one of the tents over Thymelixsen before we got closer to town, and May and Jack joined him in there. It made us much less conspicuous. When we got closer to the city, we circled it rather than going in. We passed some other guard trees, and there was a fair bit of traffic, both foot and horse. Unlike in human lands, thes guard trees and orchards and so on are all connected to the All-Wood. I think it has something to do with how they're raised/treated. In the afternoon I continued to pay attention to the geography for a while, then took time to pray to the Healer.
Thymelixsen continued casting 13 Infusions of the Body on himself, until he came out of it and asked for his book. May passed it to him, and he wrote furiously for a bit, then told us what happened.
As he was casting, he was bumped, sent through the structures of magic to a beach scene. There was the ocean, with a briny smell, blue sky, sand in his toes. He said, "I amd here," it wasn't imagined or hallucinated, not a painting. There was a dune behind, and low trees. The wind was blowing through the reeds. His footprints went back eight feet. He could see, hear, and feel the frames. He noticed he was naked. And he couldn't push the frames past the stuck part. His spirit was apparently knocked out of his body. He called on the blond woman (from the ship). She was already in him, there for everyone, always. He showed her the frames, and she'd seen them before. He asked if she were a god, and she looked amused; she's not. She's on the edge of the war, a being that remembers more. Thymelixsen loooked, and saw boats floating on the water, with others under the water, that weren't well. She was under the water like a boat that belonged under water. She remembered all the times they'd spoken. He will remember. She's half under water, to talk with him. She and he are the same. She's also like me, but a savage warrior. The rainbows see us all the time, like we were ants on the sand - do not be like an ant carrying a distinctive stick. They can see us all the time, and that is separate from the trackers following us. There will be a choice about being more or less rainbow. The ancient tower is inside and outside the veil. She can't go there because she's edge. The choices are 1 death, 2 life, 3 edge. She is like him, is him, but remembers more, a connection, that hasn't fallen.
Which left us all debating what we need to do with this. Other than not be noticeable with sticks. Talking with the rainbows is obviously a huge stick, but presumably blessings and magic that are used by people all over are not.
